Pop-Up Math
Did you ever wonder what made your teacher get so excited about some topic in Mathematics? This page tries to collect items about Mathematics, one of which hopefully may explain this weird behavior.   Also included on this page are links which the site couldn't figure out where to put otherwise.

 

George W. Hart's Pavilion of Polyhedreality
Interested in learning more about polyhedra?  This is the site.  Check out over 1000 polyhedra online including the regular solids (tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron, icosahedron.  You can download a copy of the required browser plug-in to spin, walk-through and zoom into your favorite 3-dimensional solid. 

 

The Math Forum 
The Math Forum is a searchable and browsable site at Drexel University that includes a wealth of information for teachers, students and parents.   There are areas such as "Math Education," "Key Issues in Math," and Math resources by subject.  This site is highly recommended for students starting math projects and teachers looking for ideas.   It has won over 20 awards by such organizations as the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

 

Geometry Through Art
This site features the work of Norman Shapiro, M.A.  He is a teacher and an artist with more than thirty years of teaching experience.  He is a member of the Goudreau Museum's Education Advisory Committee.  

 

Girl Scouts of Nassau County
This is the home page of the Nassau County, Long Island, New York Girl Scouts.  Many local troops visit the Goudreau Museum each year to work towards their math badges and/or to perform community service. Did you know that Nassau County Girl Scouts performed more than 100,000 hours of community service all over Long Island last year alone?   Learn more about regional scouting and try out some of their activities!

The Long Island Museum of Science and Technology, LIMSAT, is a work in progress - Long Island, New York's "hands-on" science and technology museum - a unique version of hundreds of such places throughout the world.
