Goudreau
Museum of Mathematics in Art and Science October 2001 Dear
Friends, Can you believe it!!! The Goudreau Museum of Mathematics in Art and Science is
celebrating its 20th Anniversary.
A
gala dinner will be held on November 15, 2001 at the Swan Club in Glenwood
Landing to commemorate this momentous event.
This celebration will be held in conjunction with the Museum’s
Annual Awards Dinner. We will be honoring the founding of the Museum by
Bernie Goudreau in 1981. Bernie’s
work in developing the Math Museum will be remembered by several of his
friends and colleagues. There
will also be replicas of some of the original exhibits and puzzles for
your enjoyment. In the
continuing tradition of the Museum, the Annual Dinner will honor several
individuals for outstanding contributions to mathematics and volunteer
leadership. We invite you--members and friends of the Museum;
past Board Trustees; former students and colleagues of Bernie; and all
members of the math community--to join in this celebration. As you are aware, the Math Museum is a not-for-profit
organization. Fundraising
events such as this dinner enable the Museum to continue to fulfill its
mission to promote and encourage interest in mathematics for everyone and
to emphasize the fun and joy in the study of mathematics.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I strongly
encourage you to be present at the evening’s festivities.
If, however, you are unable to attend, you can still contribute
your support to this event by subscribing to our Dinner Journal.
