The Goudreau Museum of Mathematics in Art and Science will commemorate its 20th anniversary with a dinner to be held on Thursday, November 15 at the Swan Club.  To share in this celebration, the Museum is searching for former students, colleagues and friends of museum founder Bernard Goudreau, former engineer at Fairchild Republic and mathematics teacher at Syosset High School.

Mr. Goudreau taught at Syosset High School from Fall 1965 until the early 1980’s. Before he passed away in December 1985, he touched the lives of many students and colleagues with his creativity and enthusiasm for mathematics. The "Math Museum" continues to exhibit many of the 3-dimensional solid models built by Mr. Goudreau and his former students. Each year thousands of museum visitors use the oversized wooden math games and puzzles that they constructed.

The Goudreau Museum offers workshop programs to school groups and scout troops in addition to special math enrichment programs, school vacation programs, lectures and special events. The Museum has public hours Saturdays, October through June, and is open weekdays year-round, by appointment.

The Goudreau Museum of Mathematics in Art and Science is a non-profit Museum, that seeks to promote and encourage interest in mathematics for everyone, regardless of age or mathematical background. The Museum is located in the Herricks Community Center, 999 Herricks Road, Room 202, New Hyde Park.
